Storeposts SOP: Creating Amazon Social Posts

Who is this for? Individuals who wanted to register and start with Amazon social posts.
Objective: The purpose of this document is to present a step-by-step guide for registering and creating Amazon social posts.

Amazon social posting is an option for Amazon sellers wishing to share Facebook, IG, or Twitter-like posts on Amazon detail pages. While it hasn't increased sales or conversion significantly yet, it can still be a good value-add for a client and is worth setting up. This SOP will walk you through the steps to both get started with Amazon Profiles (the social posting name) and how to begin making posts.

Note:

  • To enable social posts, the client will need to have both the Brand Registry on their account and a Brand Store made. If either of these is missing, speak with the client's POC (Brand Manager).

  • Amazon Social Posts is available only to the US Marketplace as of this writing.

Setting up Amazon Social Posts 

Access the Amazon Profiles page by clicking the URL: https://posts.amazon.com/profiles

  • If you have multiple registered brands and some of it is not listed, click on Profiles on the upper left-hand of the screen, then scroll down from the list. Click on Manage Your Account.

Create your First Post

  • Click the Create Post button.

This will bring up the following screen

Images

Click Upload image and browse the image to be used. There are a few requirements when uploading an image:

  • Image size: 640 x 320 px or larger

  • Aspect ratio: Between 9:16 and 16:9

  • File format: JPG or PNG

  • Color format: RGB


Here are a few tips when selecting your image to be posted:

  • Use lifestyle images to attract more attention.

  • Avoid duplicate images. Images posted already cannot be used again.

  • Avoid using images with alcohol, blades, ammunition, and firearms.

  • Avoid using collages and images with heavy text.

  • Avoid using images with vulgar words in them.

Caption

The caption text will allow you to highlight important product features and include a call to action. Keep in mind that you are limited to 300 characters so make sure you keep the most important information.

  • You can refer to the bullet points from the product listing and then work out a catching caption from it.

  • Avoid using the word keto, weight loss, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, cannabis

ASIN

Add up to 5 ASINs that the brand owns or is permitted to sell.

  • Add ASINs based on the image you uploaded

  • You can add relevant products and/or variations of the uploaded image


Schedule

You can schedule when you want the social post to go live.

  • There is no limit to how many posts you can create.

  • Amazon encourages users to post as much as possible, just like any other social media platform. That means around 1 post per day or 1 post per 1 to 2 days to fully maximize its benefits.

This is exactly like creating a social post for any other social media platform. The only difference here is that you will need to select an ASIN to attach the post to.

Once you've finished filling out your social post information, click the yellow Submit for Review button.
