How to Set Up an Android Emulator in Android Studio and Install Skustack
This article walks you through the full process of setting up an Android emulator using Android Studio and installing the Skustack app from the Google Play Store.
🔧 Step 1: Install Android Studio
- Download and install Android Studio from the official site:
👉 https://developer.android.com/studio - During installation, on the “Choose Components” screen, ensure the Android Virtual Device option is checked. This is required to run the emulator.
🧙 Step 2: Run the Setup Wizard
Launch Android Studio.
Proceed through the Android Studio Setup Wizard:
Click Next.
Choose Standard installation.
Click Next again.
Review and Accept the license agreements.
Click Finish.
Android Studio will now download and install necessary components.
🚀 Step 3: Launch the Virtual Device Manager
Once the setup is complete and you reach the Welcome to Android Studio screen:
Click More Actions at the bottom right.
Select Virtual Device Manager.
📱 Step 4: Start a Virtual Device
- In the Device Manager, create or select an existing device (e.g., Pixel 4 – API Level 30+, or any Medium Phone configuration).
- Click the Play button ▶️ to launch the emulator.
- A black emulator screen will open. It may take a minute to fully boot up.
- Once you reach the Android Home screen, proceed to the next step.
🛒 Step 5: Install Skustack from Google Play
- In the emulator, open the Play Store app.
- Sign in with a valid Google account.
- You may be prompted to sign in twice.
- Uncheck “Back up device data”.
- Tap Accept.
- Accept the Terms of Service.
- Tap “Not now” when asked about adding a payment method.
- Use the Play Store search bar to find “skustack”.
- Tap Install.
⚠️ Step 6: Handle Account Setup Prompts
If prompted to complete your account setup:
- Tap Continue.
- When asked about a payment method, choose “Skip”.
✅ Step 7: Launch and Use Skustack
- Once installed, tap Open to launch Skustack.
- When prompted, Allow all necessary permissions.
- Sign in with your Skustack credentials to begin using the app.

Performance may vary based on your machine’s hardware.
If the Play Store does not appear, ensure you're using an image that supports it (e.g., Google APIs x86/x86_64 image).
If the emulator is stuck or crashes, try cold booting it from the Device Manager.
